Meet Richard Kopp

Richard Kopp is an artist who grew up in Biloxi, MS and has always been fascinated with drawing and repurposing old things to make new ones. He attended fine arts classes at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, taking particular interest in sculpture relating to the figure and found objects.

Richard went on to study sculpture at the University of Southern Mississippi where his work took on a much more existential/narrative quality while also exploring the boundaries where our reality meets others.

Since 2005 his work has predominantly surrounded a mythical narrative titled The Legend of Carl Walker, and the classification of a new mythical archetype:

His current work attempts to combine the living space, studio space, and gallery space into a 1/6 diorama, exploring the narrative surrounding Carl Walker and the Inexplicables, as well as the plasticity of realities.
